The Policy Council has been tasked with developing recommendations to address issues such as mass transit expansion funding, courthouse and jail infrastructure funding, sea level rise, housing affordability, and sensible suggestions to resolve society’s gun violence crisis at the local level.

Because of his effectiveness, his colleagues in the Legislature elected him as Chairman of the Hispanic Legislative Caucus and subsequently served as Chair of the House Committee of Business Regulation.
