As part of the Virtual Recreation Initiative conducted by the City of Hialeah, the Department of Parks and Recreation is offering free and easy workouts that you can do at home during your leisure time. This page will be updated weekly with new videos.
We strongly recommend that you consult with your physician before beginning any exercise program.
You should be in good physical condition and be able to fully participate in the following courses.

This episode focuses on four core workouts and ideally should be done between 2-3 sets. Each exercise that requires a hold should consist of between a 30 second - 60 second hold. Take your time with these exercises. It is important to go at your own pace.
This episode focuses on core and back workouts that you can do without the use of weights. Each exercise should consist of at least three sets of as many reps as you can handle.
This episode shows different variations of the burpee workout and different types of lunges. Both are great cardio workouts to incorporate into your routine. Sets and reps can vary depending on your endurance.
This episode covers various chair exercises that you can do from the comfort of your own home. You can use any chair that’s most comfortable for you but please ensure it is placed on a steady surface prior to beginning these exercises.
