After-School Programs & Specialty Camps

The City of Hialeah's Education and Community Services Division offers a wide variety of after school programs for both residents and non-residents. Students in our programs are closely supervised by trained staff and engage in fun, yet educational activities that keep the students in our programs learning after the school day has ended. Parents can have peace of mind knowing that their children and teens are in a safe and welcoming environment after the school bell rings!  If you would like more information regarding our afterschool programs please contact our office at 305-687-2650.

Creative Learning & Play (CL&P) Program

The Creative Learning and Play (CL&P) After School Program is held for students in grades K-5th. This program is open to residents and non-residents who live in the Miami-Dade area. The CL&P Program is an inclusive program that offers Academic support through PBL/Differentiated Learning Instruction and homework assistance. Enrichment activities such SPARK fitness, STEM, sports, arts, and nutrition will allow for learning and fun.

Young Leaders with Character (YLC) Orange 21st CCLC Program

The YLC -Orange Program  offers academic and enrichment activities with a strong educational focus during the Afterschool and serves teens in grades 6th- 8th from the following schools only. 

  • City of Hialeah Educational Academy
  • Hialeah Middle School
  • Henry H. Filer Middle School

This is a FREE program due to funding by the 21st CCLC grant

Young Leaders with Character (YLC) Blue Program

The YLC Blue Program provides enriching afterschool programming and structured academic experiences through homework assistance,  and project-based learning PBL instruction. Students are also offered skill building in the areas of arts, STEM, sports, and nutrition. The YLC Blue Program is held at Jose Marti MAST Academy and is for students in grades 6th-8th.

STEP AHEAD

STEP Ahead  Program offers an array of activities designed to enhance/integrate job coaching, civic, and enrichment activities to adolescents ages 14-22 with mild/moderate intellectual disabilities as well as youth with autism from Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
