Personal:

Esteban graduated from Miami Dade Community College and Florida International University, were he earned his BS degree in Political Science. He was unanimously appointed by the City Council to serve on December 1998 and has since been re-elected twice in 1999 and 2001. His commitment to serve the residents of the City of Hialeah earned him the title of Vice President 2000-2001 and Chairman of Hialeah’s Census Committee. Esteban also represents Hialeah as a Committeeman for the Republican Party.

His passion for politics, although he did not know it, probably started before he was born. His parents came to this United States after fleeing the communist dictatorship that had overrun the Island of Cuba. His father is a veteran of the Bay of Pigs and flew search missions for Brother’s to the Rescue. His mother has been active in support of dissent groups within the island.

While on the City Council, Esteban has supported the creation of new parks like the Aquatic Center at McDonald Park and the Basketball Complex at Bucky Dent Park. He has also supported the massive road repair and renovation programs that will help alleviate our transportation needs.
