Climate SmART: Artists Respond to Climate Change

Details

Honoring the Future presents the “Climate SmART: Artists Respond to Climate Change” panel discussion on January 19, 2016 at the Milander Center for Arts & Entertainment. The panel discussion will be the closing event to the Honoring the Future’s six week show by the same name. The touring exhibit, “Climate SmART: Artists Respond to Climate Change,” features works of ten American artists addressing climate change concerns, including Xavier Cortada (who also exhibited his solo show CLIMA onsite). The panelists include:

Frances A. Dubrowski, Director of Honoring the Future
Peter Handler, award-winning craft artist and creator of “The Canaries in the Coal Mine,” sculptural works about the impacts of climate change
Xavier Cortada, artist who created “ΙΧΘΥΣ (Ichthys)” as part of Honoring the Future’s effort to welcome Pope Francis’ environmental encyclical in 2015
