Garbage Collection
The City of Hialeah needs your help in keeping its streets and swale areas in an attractive and presentable condition. Your knowing about and adhering to current waste collection procedures will definitely help in keeping your neighborhood clean, and will therefore add to your propertys value by making Hialeah a better place to live.
In an attempt to beautify your neighborhood please abide by the following:
Remember this is not just a collection for garbage. Small items of trash including bags of grass may also be discarded AS LONG AS THEY ARE "CONTAINERIZED". |

Bulk Trash Collection

- Bulk trash collection is performed in your area once each month. Please have your bulky items at the curb in front of your property prior to 6:00 AM on your collection day.
- Please do not place any bulk waste out prior to 24 hours before your scheduled collection day.
- Bulky trash consist of items, such as: (but is not limited to)
- Major tree cut backs; large amounts of tree cutting and tree trunks.
- Furniture and cabinets.
- Beds, box springs, sofas and couch.
- Fence posts and wooden fence material
- Tree branches should not be longer than three (3) feet in length.
- When placing your monthly bulk trash at the curb, do not mix your trees and branches with your other bulk trash, as we cannot send "mixed loads" for recycling.
- City of Hialeah Solid Waste Department shall not be responsible for collecting or hauling, discarded building materials such as, concrete, blocks, lumber, rock, plaster, drywall, dirt, roofing, tile or other like materials. Residents are responsible for the proper disposal of said materials. However, if a resident performs a minor repair such as the removal of a door or window collection crews are instructed to collect a scoop bucket full of this type debris as a service to our residents.
- Do not place old wrecked cars and car parts on the public street

Save newspapers for another day!
Service Note: Newspapers need to be dry to be recycled at the paper mill. So on your recycling day
- Please set newspapers out if its a clear, dry day.
- If its raining on your collection day, please save your newspaper for the next "blue sky" recycling day
