Police Services performed when an Officer is not "on-duty" is referred to as "extra-duty." It is the policy of the Hialeah Police Department to allow their Officers to engage in extra-duty police work, provided that the activity does not impair the Department’s efficiency or the Officer’s effectiveness.

The Extra Duty Office is responsible for planning and staffing extra duty police details during special events occurring within the City of Hialeah. Additionally, Police Officers are available to individuals and/or groups, in an extra-duty status, within the boundaries of the City of Hialeah.

Applications shall not be approved for any person, firm or organization whose business practices are questionable, or for any event of a potentially compromising nature.

If you need to request a Police Officer for an Extra Duty Assignment, please submit your request at least one week in advance of the event. Applications for Regular Extra Duty Details may be accepted via the telephone. (305) 953-5389.
