The Family and Juvenile Crimes Section investigates crimes which are domestic or family oriented in nature. The detectives investigate cases ranging from missing persons, physical and sexual abuse of children, elderly abuse, parental abductions, domestic violence crimes and most crimes against persons were the subject is a juvenile. The victim assistance coordinator follows-up with victims and families on cases where the families might benefit from additional services such as counseling, injunctions, or help with the legal system. Additionally, the Section has the responsibility of coordinating community notification of Sexual Predators registered in Hialeah.
