The truck shop is responsible for the maintenance, and repair of the city’s heavy equipment, and trucks. These units are a vital part of Public Works, Fire, Police, and Transit.  

Our main goal is to keep the equipment on the job with minimal “down time”. We have in place a very efficient Preventative Maintenance program where every unit comes into the shop for filter changes at the appropriate interval. We also have complete equipment inspections were we can inspect the equipment and check for potential problems before they happen. We count on a welding shop to make necessary repairs, a hydraulic technician for any hydraulic issue. Our tire shop takes care of vehicles coming in for tire service as well as a mobile unit able to make repairs in the field.

As some of you know our Transit system is up and running. We have put in place a second shift to handle any problems that may arise with any bus while in route. We inspect the buses on a daily basis, check all safety items, and make repairs. Our technicians have been trained at the factory. Our citizens can rest assured that they are riding in a very safe and reliable bus.

We offer 24 hr 7 days a week emergency service for any department that has equipment working on projects after hours. If needed, we respond with Fire Dept. to service any equipment at a fire scene or re-fuel if the unit is at a scene for a long period of time.

We are a full service facility able to repair any break down that occurs, we count on the latest diagnostic equipment. Our technicians are ASE Certified. We are committed to the continued education of our staff. We send our technicians to Sterling, Bluebird, Cummins factory training, as well as vendor sponsored training.
