Under the Police Department’s Support Services Division, the Information Systems
Section is responsible for providing technical support to all Police Units, Sections
and Divisions in matters relating to desktop computers, laptops, as well as, telephone
systems support.
With complexities as diverse as our police computer network, we have incorporated
mission critical applications for 9-1-1 and other police records management functions.
We have deployed over 150 network Personal Computers to enable the department’s
personnel to share information and other data. Our officers and detectives use over
300 laptop computers to produce thousands of reports on a monthly basis. In addition,
we maintain the telephone system of the department to allow over 500 Police employees
to communicate with the public and other agencies.
