Welcome to the online office of the Mayor. I would like to take this opportunity to inform you, our citizens, about some of the recent events in our city.

We have been working diligently on many new and exciting projects for the City of Hialeah and with the efforts of everyone involved; we are witnessing positive results throughout. Our inspiration is what the “City of Progress” is best known for, as we continue improving, enhancing and placing Hialeah at the forefront of economic, social and educational development. An example of this is the growing number of Cultural and Educational events occurring throughout the city, such as Art on Palm, Art in public spaces, tutoring in the parks, and reading programs at our libraries. Recently we worked closely with the owners of a city landmark, the former Canastilla Cubana Building, and a renowned artist, Perez Celis, on the facade of the structure and others are on the way.

The City of Hialeah is addressing safety and security as one of our many objectives. We have been working thoroughly on several improvements to the Hialeah Police Department to ensure our citizens are well protected. Initiatives such as mobile data terminals, vehicles, training, and additional officers have all reinforced the efficiency and productivity of our police force. Moreover, the latest addition to our fleet, the Mobile Command Vehicle links all of our Emergency Services in one portable headquarters where our Police, Fire Departments and Emergency Management can jointly collaborate at any location within the city in order to oversee any situation.

Roadway construction and beautification throughout the city has continued along our major arteries, as well as residential areas while stimulating residents to improve their own homes and jointly develop a more astonishing image of our city.

The city’s website continues to add new features such as Building and Zoning permit information, the Flood Prevention Section and the city’s flood map.
