The Miami-Dade Animal Services Department Anti-Cruelty Investigations Unit responds countywide to more than 2,500 reports of abused or neglected animals annually. representative of our ongoing commitment and unique partnership with local law The enclosed patch is enforcement agencies to increase awareness, investigation and prosecution of animal related crimes. Through this anti- cruelty initiative we strive to enhance and improve the lives and welfare of animals in Miami-Dade County. Miami-Dade Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center is an open admission animal shelter providing refuge and care to more than 28,000 lost or abandoned dogs and cats annually. Through nationally recognized lifesaving initiatives, extensive veterinary care and the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated staff, the shelter strives to attain its no kill goal of saving 90 percent of pets, first reached in 2015.
