Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program
The City of Hialeah's Lead Hazard Reduction Grant program seeks to undertake intervention measures to eliminate the presence of lead-based paint hazards in homes to reduce childhood exposure to lead and prevent lead poisoning to vulnerable populations.
- Must be located in Hialeah
- Must be low-income
- House built prior to 1978
- House is occupied (or regularly visited) by a child under the age of 6

Housing Assistance Network of Dade (HAND)
COVID-19 Rental Assistance
The Housing Assistance Network of Dade (HAND) Program has launched a Rental Assistance Portal, specifically geared toward helping individuals and families impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. The City of Hialeah is one of multiple communities that has received an allocation of Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that is helping to fund this new initiative in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust.
To apply, or for more information, prospective applicants can visit https://www.citrushealth.org/programs-services/housing/HAND, call the Homeless Helpline at 1-877-994-4357 (Option #3), or call the HAND Program office at 305-231-7667.
