Special Population

The City of Hialeah has been a pioneer in the inclusion of special populations in municipal programs. Through its programs, participants have found a community of support and a channel to prosper and contribute to the workforce. The City’s Special Population Programs have enabled special needs participants to succeed in everything from the Special Olympics to culinary arts school.

Our Programs

The City of Hialeah is unique in the sense that it has created a united community of support for individuals with special needs. When combined, its programs serve a broad range of age groups in order to reach as much of the population as possible:

  • The after school programs are equipped to serve elementary, middle, and high school students with special needs.
  • Project SEARCH and VICTORY caters to special needs high school students who are up for graduation and seeking employment.
  • The Special Population Program serves developmentally disabled adults from ages 18 to 65.
