YLC- Blue Program
The Young Leaders with Character (YLC) Blue Program offers after school programming Monday through Friday for teens in grades 6th to 8th who attend any Miami-Dade County Public School.
This program offers academic and enrichment activities that keep your teen learning and having fun after the school bell rings for the day.

Registration Information
Parents are required to bring the following documents to complete registration:
- Completed Registration Form
- Passport or Birth Certificate
- Current Photo of child
- Proof of address - utility bill
- Current Report Card
- Any documentation documenting Child with Special Needs (if applicable)

Our Staff
Our staff includes state-certified teachers, trained camp directors and program leaders. There are CPR and first aid certified staff at every site. Staff meet Level 2 screening requirements as described in S. 1012.32 (Florida Statutes).
We contract with a diverse and talented group of community-based instructors for enrichment activities.
Program Accommodations
Program accommodations include a Master Inclusion Teacher, and daily inclusion aides and trained staff on-site to apply behavior modification techniques for children with behavior challenges and educational strategies for those who have learning difficulties and attention deficits.
We offer inclusion support at sites if needed and our after-school staff-to-child ratios are 1:15.

Funding
The City of Hialeah's YLC Blue Program is funded in part by The Children's Trust. The Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
