Winter Reading Challenge

Winter Reading Program


The winter season is the perfect time to cozy up with a good book. The Hialeah Public Libraries invites everyone to join our Winter Reading Challenge from Dec 21st through March 19th, and log your reading online with Readsquared.

 As you read books and complete reading missions, you are eligible to win badges and prizes. Simply register online via Readsquared to participate in library reading programs all year round. If already registered, simply login to you existing account.

Online Storytime / La hora del cuento 

Tuesdays and Thursdays

La hora del cuento is an online storytime conducted in Spanish and English, aimed to help develop kids’ reading habits. New stories will be posted online every Tuesday and Thursday.

Cuentos y Dibujos / Storytime & Crafts

Mondays at 6:30 p.m.

Cuentos y Dibujos is a storytime conducted in Spanish, aimed at developing the habit of reading stories from a very early age. Storytime is followed by crafts, music, riddles, and quiz activities.

Family Night

Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

This is a bilingual storytime combined with craft activities aimed at developing our kids' reading habits.

Preschool Storytime

Biweekly on Wednesdays at 5 p.m for ages 2 to 5

We invite you to join us for Preschool Storytime, designed to give young children the opportunity to socialize, practice listening skills, and reading comprehension. Together, we can encourage your preschooler to learn about the library, and introduce them to a lifelong love of reading.

Family Movie Night

Once a month on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

Join us for Family Movie at the Library. Enjoy a movie and popcorn with your family.

Alternating Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Hialeah Makers is a program designed to foster creativity and interest in the world of science through experiments and hands-on activities.

Young Poets Society

Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m.

This group of young poets from Young Poets Society will have the opportunity to read, learn, and write together every Wednesday at 4 p.m. in this bilingual program.

This program is held at the Wilde e-Library located at 1701 West 53rd Terrace.

A Novel Idea: Teen Book Club

Last Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.
