2020 Summer Reading Program


The Hialeah Public Libraries’ 2020 Summer Reading Program is designed to encourage the whole community to read. Our virtual program is free for all ages, from pre-school to adults, and offers many benefits. Read or listen to books, record your reading, play educational games, attend virtual events and explore all the fun ways to earn points and win prizes!

Our weekly prizes include small tokens of thanks, and readers with the most points will receive gift cards, certificates of participation and grand prizes at the end of the summer! Prizes can be redeemed starting June 15th, 2020 through August 8th, 2020.

El program Lectura de Verano del 2020 de las Bibliotecas Públicas de Hialeah está diseñado para alentar a toda la comunidad a leer. Nuestro programa virtual es gratuito para todas las edades, desde preescolar hasta adultos, y ofrece muchos beneficios. ¡Lea o escuche libros, insciba su lectura, participe en juegos educativos, asista a eventos virtuales y explore todas las formas divertidas de ganar puntos y premios!

Online Storytime / La hora del cuento 

Tuesdays and Thursdays

La hora del cuento is an online storytime conducted in Spanish, aimed to help develop kids’ reading habits. New stories will be posted online every Tuesday and Thursday.

Cuentos y Dibujos / Storytime & Crafts

Mondays at 6:30 p.m.

Cuentos y Dibujos is a storytime conducted in Spanish, aimed at developing the habit of reading stories from a very early age. Storytime is followed by crafts, music, riddles, and quiz activities.

Family Night

Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

This is a bilingual storytime combined with craft activities aimed at developing our kids' reading habits.

Preschool Storytime

Biweekly on Wednesdays at 5 p.m for ages 2 to 5

We invite you to join us for Preschool Storytime, designed to give young children the opportunity to socialize, practice listening skills, and reading comprehension. Together, we can encourage your preschooler to learn about the library, and introduce them to a lifelong love of reading.

Family Movie Night

Once a month on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

Join us for Family Movie at the Library. Enjoy a movie and popcorn with your family.

Alternating Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Hialeah Makers is a program designed to foster creativity and interest in the world of science through experiments and hands-on activities.

Young Poets Society

Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m.

This group of young poets from Young Poets Society will have the opportunity to read, learn, and write together every Wednesday at 4 p.m. in this bilingual program.

This program is held at the Wilde e-Library located at 1701 West 53rd Terrace.

A Novel Idea: Teen Book Club

Last Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.
