E.P.I. Youth Program

EPI Youth Program Logo 2022

The City of Hialeah's Department of Parks and Recreation provides the Early Prevention & Intervention Youth & Internship Program (EPI) to prevent crime, violence and drug abuse among youth. The program began in 1992 to target "at risk" youth (12-18 years old) in Hialeah's community. Some youth are not aware that the choices they make may endanger them. Unforeseen consequences may include health risks or involvement in the juvenile justice system. The program's main goals are to teach life lessons, prevent our community's youth from making harmful decisions and to provide an effective intervention for youth who have already made poor decisions that have affected their lives.
